Ray’s Lighthouse is more than a hotel. It is a cultural crossroads where travelers, manga lovers, creators, and local communities come together in the heart of Kyoto.
Blending Japanese hospitality with the English and Japanese language of manga, Ray’s Lighthouse offers guests an immersive experience that combines comfort, creativity, onigiri and human connection.
It's still a long way off, but I'm working hard to make it happen someday.

Hostel
We aim to create a hostel where guests can have fun, build meaningful connections, and share unforgettable experiences with people from around the world.
The property will be thoughtfully renovated to reflect the beauty of traditional Japanese aesthetics, creating a warm and welcoming space where visitors can truly experience the atmosphere and culture of Japan.
More than just a hostel, it will be a place where people, cultures, and ideas come together in a comfortable and immersive environment.

Manga Onigiri Cafe
Guests will have access to a large collection of Japanese and English manga, with carefully selected titles added on a regular basis, allowing visitors to explore and enjoy Japan’s unique manga culture.
In addition, we will serve delicious onigiri made with high-quality ingredients sourced from the Kansai region. A variety of flavors will be available, offering guests an authentic taste of local Japanese cuisine.
Whether relaxing with a manga and a cup of coffee before a meal, or enjoying freshly made onigiri while meeting new people, guests can spend their time in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Accommodations
We are currently considering two accommodation styles: a capsule hotel–inspired experience and traditional Japanese-style rooms.
Whichever style we choose, the design will celebrate the beauty and character of Japan, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in a uniquely Japanese stay.
Our goal is to create a comfortable and relaxing environment where visitors can truly unwind, connect with others, and enjoy their time in Kyoto.
